The final report of the workshop on Legal Reform to Prohibit All Forms of Corporal Punishment of Children held in Beirut during 30 June-2 July 2010 in collaboration with the League of Arab States, the Higher Council for Childhood Lebanon and The Global Initiative to End All Corporal Punishment of Children, and with the attendance of the UN Special Representative on Violence Against Children Ms. Marta Santos Pais. The workshop “Law Reform to prohibit all forms of corporal punishment of children” was intentionally organized following the League of Arab States meeting, to ensure the participation of representatives of each state member of the League involved in child protection and, to strategically link the regional effort to comply with the UN Study on Violence Against Children and the challenge of banning corporal punishment against children.
