Save the Children
The Remote Assessment of Learning tool (ReAL) developed by Save the Children can help the teams ensure that programming responds to children’s needs by enabling periodic checks on learning progress and continuous improvement of the distance learning approach. Zambia, one of the first cohorts of countries piloting ReAL, tested the caregiver reported modality with parents of children 3-6 years old. For this explorative quantitative study, quantitative data was collected remotely through a baseline assessment, and the data collection relied on caregiver reports; thus, the tool was adapted to focus on tasks and language that are easy to understand and describe.
