Venezuela is facing the worst socioeconomic, political and human rights crisis in history. Approximately 4,5 million people have fled the country due to violence, and it is estimated that 20 percent are children or adolescents.
Between June and July 2019, Plan International’s Regional Response team for the Venezuelan Migration Crisis visited a total of seven cities in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. They met with refugees and migrants to learn about their experiences during their journeys and to analyze their needs concerning protection, violence prevention and sexual reproductive health.
This report shares first-hand accounts from 17 Venezuelan refugees who left their homes to flee the political and economic crisis.
