PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION BRIEF | USAID’s MaMoni Maternal and Newborn Care Strengthening Project (MaMoni MNCSP): Managing Maternal and Newborn Emergencies at the Emergency Units of Public Health Facilities in Bangladesh

This brief summarizes USAID’s MaMoni Maternal and Newborn Care Strengthening Project’s (MaMoni MNCSP) work to adopt a comprehensive health systems approach to improve the readiness and responsiveness for emergency obstetric and newborn management in hospitals, including for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency units. MaMoni MNCSP worked with the Bangladesh government to design and implement a systematic protocol for the identification, management, and referral of maternal and newborn complications at emergency units of hospitals.
