Child Soldiers International
This guide is the outcome of a Child Soldiers International workshop in Goma, the Democratic Republic of Congo, that discussed the findings of What the Girls Say and the challenges girls formerly associated with armed groups face in DR Congo. In the workshop, child protection specialists, UN agencies, and government officials, discussed solutions and interventions to meet the girls’ needs and recovery processes, with girls’ recommendations in mind from the aforementioned report.
The guide is a comprehensive and systematic toolkit to be used by child protection workers to respond to the needs of formed girl child soldiers and to assist their release and integration.
The guide is available in English, French, Swahili, and Lingala.
