As part of the EU Fundamental Rights and Citizenship operational grant 2012, Save the Children’s Child Rights Governance Initiative (CRGI) commissioned two studies related to ‘Investment in Children’ among 10 Save the Children (SC) Members in Europe. The present study provides an overview on where and how to find information on government spending on child rights in 10 European countries while the other maps Save the Children’s work on investment in children in these countries.
The study focuses specifically on education, health, social protection and General Measures of Implementation of the UNCRC. The countries covered are Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Spain, Sweden and UK. This study was commissioned by Save the Children Finland in November 2012 with funding from the European Commission, as part of its Child Rights and Good Governance work to address the gaps in governments’ allocations of resources for the implementation of child rights.
