Outcome Assessment Insights: ECHO-HIP 2023 (Bangladesh, 2025)

The ECHO-HIP Outcome Assessment Report (2023) evaluates Save the Children’s humanitarian interventions in Rohingya refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. Implemented since 2017, the program integrates child protection, education in emergencies, health, and nutrition to address protracted crisis needs. Using quantitative and qualitative methods with 1,524 respondents, the assessment highlights strong achievements in safety, wellbeing, and service satisfaction. Overall satisfaction reached 90%, exceeding the 80% target, with Teknaf Upazila recording 100%. Protection mainstreaming scored highly in safety (98%) but showed moderate gaps in accountability (86%) and participation (88%). Teacher training improved knowledge and skills (86%), while parental support groups demonstrated 84% engagement, though female participation lagged. Significant gains were noted in protection knowledge, rising from 24% pre-training to 99% post-training. Recommendations emphasize strengthening feedback mechanisms, equitable service delivery, gender-sensitive approaches, and continued capacity-building to sustain progress and enhance community trust and resilience.
