Rural families often face steep barriers to transportation, food, and early learning. To address these gaps, Save the Children supported 18 mobile units in nine states during 2023, reaching nearly 90,000 people, distributing more than 366,000 meals, and connecting families to education and public benefits. Drawing on data and community feedback, this report highlights how mobile units extend resources to the hardest-to-reach families, foster trust through consistent presence, and succeed when supported by strong planning, staffing, and funding. Partner and caregiver insights underscore the importance of involving local communities in decision-making, tailoring services to rural contexts, and maintaining sustainable funding streams.
