(Not) All at the School Canteen! 2017

(Not) All at the School Canteen! is the monitoring report on the school canteen service executed by Save the Children Italia for the last four years. It undertakes an analysis of the policies and practices relating to the school canteen in Italy, with a focus on 45 chief towns with more than 100,000 people, on which a comparative survey of different variables is developed. Variables included: the percentage of students’ access to service, budgeted costs for families, rates, facilitation and exemption criteria, restrictions and possible exclusion of children from the service in case of parental delay of payment. Children’s access to the school cafeteria helps ensure full enjoyment of the right to school, the right to health, and the right to non-discrimination.
