This publication explores the ways in which conflict and violence are shaping the lives of adolescents and children; research was undertaken in Pakistan.
The first chapters begin with an examination of the different roles young people play in Pakistan’s many intertwined conflicts. The report then continues by investigating the impact of violence on young people: the physical, social, economic, and psychological damages as a result from exposure to conflict and violence. Focus is then turned to the context for violence and they either promote or resolve conflict: communities, families, formal and informal institutions. The remaining chapters focus on lessons learned, a call to action, and a set of interlocking conclusions.
The conclusions are intended to inform young people themselves, policymakers, civil society, the media, think tanks, and the international community.
