The Network for Empowered Aid Response (NEAR) Statement: COVID-19

As COVID-19 is spreading to countries across the world, the Network for Empowered Aid Response (NEAR), has shared this statement developed by their members and community of organizations. Similar to several national, regional and global networks of implementing organizations, NEAR believe this is a critical time to utilize all resources, human and financial, to help slow down and ultimately stop the spread of COVID-19 before it reaches the most vulnerable communities around the world.

This statement highlights three very important key areas of focus; a primary focus on preventative measures, a special focus on livelihood support to vulnerable populations, and specific recommendations on current and future funding to local and national non-governmental organizations.
