This publication gathered the life histories of children, who are now adults, that were exploited for household work in Paraguay. It reflects how society and the state did not protect them from exploitation, and how their social backgrounds made them vulnerable to this situation.

The different storylines have common moments, for instance the pain during the family separation process or the disappointment when they realize that their “new” family does not treat them as children but instead as almost slaves.
