Save the Children Sweden
Growing up in poverty has a measurable impact on not only a child’s living conditions, but also their ability realize their rights. For this reason, Save the Children Sweden sees an importance in developing understanding of the disparate living conditions of different groups of children in modern day Sweden. This understanding is important when meeting children and their families, as well as political decision making.
This study analyzes economic vulnerability for children born in 2000, during the entirety of their childhood. It is the first Swedish study of its kind.
The results of this study show that there are far too many children, for more or less the majority of their childhood, with restricted livelihoods due to their economic vulnerability. Save the Children Sweden provides several, targeted recommendations for Social Services, the Swedish Government, and other decision makers.
