Lives Saved Tool (LiST) Analysis of the MaMoni Maternal and Newborn Care Strengthening Project

The Lives Saved Tool (LiST) is a mathematical model to estimate maternal, neonatal, and child mortality and stillbirths. It models the impact of scaling up coverage of proven health interventions that can be feasibly implemented in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). In Bangladesh, both neonatal and maternal mortality reduction (10~15%) was observed in the 10 original intervention districts in USAID’s USAID’s MaMoni Maternal and Newborn Care Strengthening Project (MaMoni MNCSP) during 2018 to 2023, when modeled with LiST. The reduction of neonatal and maternal mortalities led to an additional 3,300 neonatal lives and 462 maternal lives saved.
