This review compiles and analyses evidence on the linkages between HIV interventions and child protection within the context of emerging social protection responses. The report firstly provides a summary of what social protection is and its relevance to child rights programming. It then considers linkages between child protection and HIV prevention and care challenges and responses through a gender lens. Lastly, it looks at potential ways in which these child protection and HIV responses can most effectively have impact for girls and boys at scale, by linking as closely as possible to the emerging social protection agenda. Recommendations are provided for future engagement by Save the Children Sweden (SCS) and partners.
