Save the Children Italy
This research aims to provide a picture of the impact of recent seismic events that hit Central Italy on the rights of children and adolescents.
Children involved in so-called “natural disasters” may have to deal with various elements of sudden deprivation, which tend to put their resilience skills to the test. They may be forced to leave their houses and lose other things that bring them a sense of home and comfort. They may find themselves having to change schools and quickly learn new rules of coexistence. They may have their autonomy limited.
These are just some of the aspects addressed in the research “The impact of seismic events in central Italy on the rights of children and adolescents”, carried out by Save the Children in collaboration with the University Center for Human Rights of the University of Padua. The aim of the survey is to shed light on these critical issues and at the same time provide useful tools that can help bring back normality to these children’s lives.
