This publication looks at how the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) relates to disabled children in developing countries. Disabled children have exactly the same rights as other children. However, in order to realise those rights, more needs to be done. Disabled children too often face discrimination and abuse and are rarely given the opportunity to participate. This publication looks at how the UNCRC relates to disabled children, primarily focusing on developing countries. Illustrated with examples of good practice from around the world, it makes the case for taking action to promote disabled children’s rights.
