Although a lot has been written about the short-term challenges that children returning ‘home’ from rebel fighting groups are facing, little is known about the long-term effects these children face. In this article findings from the first long-term assessment of the social and economic challenges faced by a group of children who passed through an internationally-financed reception centre after a period of time with the Lord’s Resistance Army are presented.
