Save the Children began implementing Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) programs in Nepal in 1997 to help children learn and develop their full potential. By 2015, Save the Children had education programs in 18 districts and worked with 1402 ECCD centres and 1332 schools.
In recent years, Save the Children has developed a tool to measure ECCD children’s developmental outcomes. This tool is commonly known as International Development and Early Learning Assessment (IDELA) and it was developed to use for establishing a baseline of children’s learning and development at beginning of the project and a final assessment of children at the end of the school year.
Research Inputs and Development Action (RIDA) supported Save the Children in the creation of this the endline study using IDELA tool in Sindhupalchowk district in Nepal.
