This paper is part of a series of bridging papers looking at different points of the 5-year Action Plan for Collaboration from a child rights perspective. Child migrants are doubly vulnerable as both children and as migrants, putting them at heightened risk of grave human rights violations. In the context of migration, children are entitled to comprehensive protection through a large body of international law. Yet the legal frameworks built upon these bodies of international law are often fragmented and only cover certain areas of these children’s rights. This paper identifies the issues and challenges in the protection of child rights as set forth by international human rights treaties in the context of international migration.
