Supplementary report by Human Rights Watch to Libera’s periodic report on the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, on issues relating to child soldiers. The widespread use of child soldiers in Liberia has forced into battle thousands of children who have suffered exceptional cruelties during the war. This report covers the period August through November 2003 and is based on the interviews conducted by Human Rights Watch researchers with former and current child soldiers and young adults, ranging in age from ten to seventeen years old.
