This report attempts to explore how people in two districts in Eastern Nepal perceive notions of masculinities and to understand young men’s experiences and attitudes towards violence and sexual gender-based violence (SGBV).
SGBV is a big safety and security challenge in Nepal. At the same time, there is very limited understanding regarding masculinities and whether and how they link to violence. This report presents findings in an attempt to fill a research gap that will lead to lasting solutions that end SGBV and build positive masculinities in Nepalese communities.
