The Health of Internally Displaced Children in Sub-Saharan Africa: A scoping review

Around 41,3 million internally displaced persons (IDPs) were located around the world at the end of 2018. The same year, internal displacement in sub-Saharan Africa was higher than in any other region, with approximately 7,4 million people displaced due to conflict and violence. Children are a particularly vulnerable group of IDPs since they have health needs that are different from adults. As a consequence, they may be left unsupported by general health service provisions. Furthermore, there is a lack of studies on the health concerns of internally displaced children. 

This scoping review explores the extent, range, and nature of the literature on the health of internally displaced children in sub-Saharan Africa.
