The Interagency Learning Initiative on Community Based Child Protection Mechanisms and Child Protection Systems
This research is part of an inter-agency, grounded learning initiative that aims to strengthen child protection practice in the global child protection sector through research in Sierra Leone and Kenya.
The field of child protection suffers from a weak evidence base and, according to the authors, a reliance on process indicators rather than outcome indicators that show meaningful improvements in children’s lives. This research is an attempt to contribute to the development of such outcome definitions. It is also hoped that the outcomes from this study will aid in efforts to measure outcomes for children and to determine the effectiveness of community-based child protection mechanisms and aspects of the wider child protection system in Kenya.
