This study finds a global increase in displacement of 50% in the past five years, from 42.5 million forcibly displaced people in 2011 to 59.5 million in 2014; the current number of displaced globally is the highest since the aftermath of World War II.
This report analyses statistical trends and changes of global displacement from January to December of 2015 for the populations for whom UNHCR has been entrusted with a responsibility by the international community. All Global Trends reports can be found on UNHCR’s website.
