This report explores children’s understanding and perspectives on safeguarding within Save the Children’s programs. The assessment involved 244 children and 115 adults across various refugee settlements and districts. It aimed to evaluate children’s knowledge of safeguarding policies, existing reporting mechanisms, barriers to reporting, and preferred information-sharing methods. Key findings include children’s awareness of basic safeguarding standards, confusion between staff behavior and services, and significant barriers such as fear of retaliation and physical accessibility issues. The report highlights the need for increased awareness, improved accessibility, timely feedback, and preferred communication channels like school assemblies and community radios. Recommendations focus on enhancing safeguarding practices, training, and community engagement to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all children.
