Fifth Ministerial Follow-up Forum to the Paris Commitments and Paris Principles on Children Associated with Armed Forces or Armed Groups

This background paper and annex introduces the purpose and rationale for the fifth Follow-up Forum to the International Conference ‘Free Children from War,’ at which The Paris Commitments to Protect Children Unlawfully Recruited or Used by Armed Forces or Armed Groups (Paris Commitments) and The Paris Principles and Guidelines on Children associated with Armed Forces or Armed Groups (Paris Principles) were adopted.  The forum was held December 3, 2012 at the UN Headquarters in New York.
