The most recent data from UNICEF finds that 3 in 4 children — worldwide — are regularly subjected to violence by their caregivers. Exposure to violence often takes place from a very early age, and within spaces where children are meant to feel safe, such as in their homes or in learning environments. The report focuses on four types of violence: violent discipline and exposure to domestic violence in early childhood, violence at school, deaths amongst youth, and sexual violence throughout all stages of childhood.

Lastly, the report prescribes national action plans and strategies to prevent and handle violence perpetrated against children.
