Since its adoption thirty years ago, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child has become one of the most widely ratified conventions in history. The expectations of the Convention have been met with historical gains in children’s rights and welfare since 1989, but significant challenges remain. Progress in some areas are slow and at risk of reversing, whilst new threats such as the resurgence of measles and impacts of climate change emerge.
This report is an advocacy tool to celebrate the progress that has been made over the last three decades, but also to raise dialogue on the work that remains.
