This report aims to shed light on the latest developments behind Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) migration, identify critical migration-related issues and become a core instrument for the development of public policies that will ensure the integral protection of children’s rights in the context of migration. It examines the compliance of concrete human rights standards, principles and obligations by LAC States parties in matters related to child & youth migration and children of migrants, and how far these commitments are being implemented. The report also looks at the legal framework that contains regulations relevant to the protection of migrant children across the region. This document has been prepared by Universidad Nacional de Lanús (UNLa) in cooperation with the UNICEF Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).
