Engagement of Adolescents to Reduce Maternal and Newborn Mortality in Bangladesh

Save the Children values Adolescent and Youth for promoting their agency to engage them in contributing social, political, and economic issues at the community. Because of the adolescent not only the beneficiary of Save the Children program delivery, but their engagement at social issues is important for strong advocacy. Save the children Action Network admits the power of youth and adolescents as their potentiality of address the development issues through engagement and advocacy for better services for right holders.

Keeping this in mind Save the Children in Bangladesh has formed 3 Adolescent Club in 2021 at Faridpur district with the support of USAID’s MaMoni Maternal and Newborn Health Care Strengthening project. The project collaborated with the Health and Family Planning department along with Local Government for building capacity of the club members so they will be advocate for maternal and newborn health services for the communities.
