Save the Children
Indonesia has improved significantly in battling malnutrition; from 1995 to 2013, stunting declined by 10.8%, and within the same period of time, children that are underweight decreased by 10.4%. However, not all communities in Indonesia have benefited from these improvements, children in rural areas are very vulnerable and still prone to experience stunting. The prevalence of poverty in these areas are likely the drivers of malnutrition.
Save the Children has played an active role in battling malnutrition in Indonesia for four decades. Through the Everyone campaign, they have advocated for national policy change to address this problem. Beyond this, they have run multiple programmes and projects in the nation to alleviate poverty and prevent malnutrition. Read more about the response and programme achievements within the brief.
