Save the Children Bangladesh
Children can be empowered to drive the realization of their own rights. Save the Children believes that this can happen by identifying a single issue and working with children to help them develop a solution and to present that solution to the people who make decisions over their lives.
Save the Children along, with partner organizations, has implemented a project titled “ICT and innovative partnership responding to well-known challenges for children in new ways in 30 secondary non-government high schools in Savar”. The two-year project tested the participation of children years using Information Communication Technology (ICT) to improve service delivery and accountability of school decision making processes. The project has achieved significant changes due to children participation in ICT based monitoring of Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) services. As a result of children’s engagement in monitoring and due to their membership of National Children Task Force (NCTF), children perceive themselves to be in a better position to reflect their voice in school decisions affecting them.
