The Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) was designed to provide over-aged, out-of-school Rohingya children in Cox’s Bazar with access to structured education aligned with the Myanmar Curriculum (MC) and to support pathways into formal or vocational education. An effectiveness assessment was conducted between March and May 2025 using a mixed-methods approach, including quantitative surveys with learners, facilitators, and caregivers; qualitative FGDs and KIIs; and classroom observations across learning centers. Findings indicate notable improvements in learners’ literacy and numeracy, alongside reduced protection risks. However, challenges persist in learner retention—particularly among adolescent boys due to livelihood pressures—and in transitions to MC and vocational pathways. Teaching quality remains uneven, constrained by limited refresher training and instructional resources. While gender parity exists at enrollment, adolescent girls and children with disabilities face barriers to sustained participation. Strengthening pedagogy, inclusion, community engagement, MEAL systems, and sustainability planning is essential for ALP to evolve from a short-term intervention into a durable education-in-emergencies model.
