This briefing note contains key recommendations for COP30. In particular, it highlights the need for meaningful follow-up to the Expert Dialogue on Children and Climate Change held in Bonn in June 2024, and for the integration of child-sensitive indicators—disaggregated by age and focused on children—into the work program of the United Arab Emirates and Belém under the Global Goal on Adaptation (GGA). For the sake of the world’s 2.4 billion children and future generations, it is essential to maintain focus and momentum, share best practices, and build the capacity of Parties to integrate the specific needs and perspectives of children and their human rights into climate-related policies, actions, and financing.
