Desarmando la violencia. Sistematización de proyectos de violencia armada y niñez en América Latina y el Caribe

The content provided in this document builds on the experiences gained in the development and implementation of projects with a human rights approach aimed at children and armed violence in Latin America and the Caribbean. The feedback obtained from the 2005-2008 action plan has provided valuable insights into the patterns of armed violence in the area and should provide a platform for governments, organizations and donors to contribute to new initiatives. This document systematizes and reflects on some of the actions undertaken by Save the Children Sweden and its social partners concerning armed violence and children in the region. It also mentions the cultural factors and legal situation in the countries, as well as the positive experiences and problems encountered by the organizations involved in the projects.
