Children know so many things we didn’t know: Consultations and Children’s Participation in Myanmar

This report looks at the use of consultations with children as a means of developing good practice in community work, social work and development work. It focuses on work done by Save the Children’s Child Protection Programme Team in Myanmar.  The report, which is divided into seven parts and ends with a brief conclusion, looks at: • how children’s consultations are an important, even a necessary activity for the design and implementation of programmes for children; • how they can operate as a means of initiating children’s participation; and • how they influence adult staff development.
