Cash and voucher assistance (CVA) is increasingly being utilized in humanitarian responses, and there is a growing recognition that CVA can be used across multiple sectors to achieve numerous humanitarian outcomes. While CVA is a well-established intervention for basic needs, livelihood, and food security, use of CVA for child protection outcomes in humanitarian settings lacks conclusive evidence and needs further investigation. This literature review aims to summarize the evidence for CVA on child protection outcomes in humanitarian settings from peer-reviewed and grey literature to inform future child protection program development. This report further addresses the existing gaps and challenges in the literature, identifies areas for further research, and provides recommendations for CVA programs addressing child protection.
