This publication is a summary of a research study report entitled ” Introducing Child Protection and Child Friendly Justice in a Society with Complex Socioeconomic Challenges: Experiences and Lessons Learnt from Ethiopia, 2011″. It highlights the interventions developed by Save the Children Sweden and its partner Forum on Sustainable Child Empowerment (FSCE) to protect children and establish child friendly justice system in at police stations (CPU) in different regions, centers for trafficked children, community based correction programs and child friendly courts. As a result, children in contact with the law are dealt with more promptly and effectively. The capacities of the actors have been enhanced and have a deeper knowledge and understanding of child protection issues. There has been an increase in the rate of reporting, management and convictions in child abuse case.
