In 2016 the Grand Bargain was launched at the World Humanitarian Summit, calling for a ‘participation revolution’ to transform practices around community engagement. Given the changing external landscape, Save the Children decided to commission a review in child participation, influence and accountability with the intent to look at both trends and innovations in the wider landscape as well as progress, challenges and opportunities within Save the Children. This review has been conducted as a desk study based on a comprehensive literature review and interviews with 29 Save the Children staff and representatives from 6 other organizations.
