The Tom Brown targeted supplementary feeding program uses locally-sourced ingredients to create a porridge known as Tom Brown, in combination with community-based support groups. This model offers a sustainable approach to treating moderate acute malnutrition, particularly in contexts where stock-outs of commercially-manufactured nutrition supplements are common.

This country case study from Nigeria aims to add to the evidence base around Tom Brown, including around nutrition outcomes, cost-efficiency of Tom Brown, community-based perceptions of and experiences with Tom Brown, and lessons learned.
