Caregiving Behaviours for Nutrition and Child Development in Malawi: Maziko Formative Research Findings

This report summarizes the findings of a formative research study conducted in Balaka and Ntcheu districts in Malawi, to guide the Social and Behavior Change component of the Maziko – integrated Maternal and Child Cash Grant pilot project. The research used a Reality Check Approach, including immersion and participatory research living to understand behavioral drivers related to food security and livelihoods, maternal, infant and young child nutrition, gender, health and early child development.
