The development of a society is anchored on a practical and progressive education system. It is the foundation for human development, economic growth and an accelerator of modernity. Indeed, many of the challenges currently facing society today can be addressed through this. Societies view education curricula as the foundation of educational reforms that are aimed at achieving high quality learning outcomes. It is also understood to be a political and social agreement that reflects a society’s common vision while considering local needs, national expectations and global trends. The progressive nature of any education system is therefore dependent upon regular curriculum review which is necessary to adapt to developments happening around the world in order to adequately address society’s needs.

Through emotional development learners are able to understand their own and others’ feelings and emotions as well as develop effective ways for managing those feelings. Holistic education is therefore able to equip learners with skills such as persistence, problem solving, communication and collaboration.
