This is a summary of Save the Children’s publication ”Indikatorer för barns hälsa i Sverige” (Indicators for children’s health in Sweden), authored by Lennart Köhler, which aimed to identify core indicators of children’s health and wellbeing in Swedish municipalities and present it as part of a proposed child welfare index. This report addresses three aspects relating to children’s welfare: the economy, health and children’s access to education. However, in order to provide a more realistic picture of the situation of children’s health in Sweden, it would involve identifying additional basic indicators and improve gaps in the statistics. But the study could serve as a tool for municipal authorities to monitor progress on the subject of children’s health.
