Background Paper on Attacks Against Girls Seeking Access to Education

This report provides an assessment of attacks on schools and what impact this has had on girls’ education. Produced by the Women’s Human Rights and Gender (WRG) section of the OHCHR, it finds cultural, social, political, and economic obstacles to education for girls and women.

The final section of this report provides recommendations to the States and other stakeholders aimed at preventing and addressing violations of girls’ rights to, within, and through education.
