This report presents the findings of an assessment to examine the lessons learned from the Suchana programme interventions around strengthening local level social protection systems with a particular focus on local government actors and registration/enrolment into existing SP Schemes, specifically within the operational area of the Suchana project in Bangladesh (Sylhet and Moulvibazar). The findings from this study will in turn help to understand the efficacy of the interventions and to identify appropriate interventions for future to increase the efficacy of the UP leadership to select beneficiary and address the grievances of the eligible individuals and households. In addition, this study also identifies best practices that can be replicated by the government to increase coverage and efficacy of SP schemes delivered. This study also flags the importance of a climate responsive social protection system in Bangladesh specifically in the context of post-LDC graduation.
