This report describes two studies undertaken simultaneously in Indonesia and Sri Lanka to assess the relationship between child wellness and livelihoods programs implemented by Save the Children in the tsunami-affected regions. Two parallel studies were undertaken in the summer of 2010. Both teams used mixed methods to look retrospectively at a range of programs implemented among populations in three districts in Aceh, Indonesia and two districts in Sri Lanka as they contributed to child well-being outcomes. These assessments can be considered early steps in building an evidence base around the connection between livelihoods and child protection.
