In Mali, malaria is a major public health problem of public health because it is one of the main causes of maternal, neonatal, and infant morbidity and mortality. Indeed, children under 5 and women pregnant women are at increased risk of severe malaria.
The Ministry of Health and Social Affairs (MSAS) with the support of its partners has undertaken to scale up effective measures against this severe and endemic parasitic disease in Mali. It is in this context that USAID funded and supported the Services de Santé à Grand Impact project (SSGI) since 2014. The objective was to contribute to the reduction of malaria-related morbidity and mortality in children under 5 years of age and pregnant women through strategies described in this brief.
