Alternative Report to the report of the Government of Colombia on the situation on the rights of the child in Colombia

This Alternative Report provides supplementary information on Colombia’s third periodic report on the implementation of the UNCRC. It analyses the problems that children face in Colombia: abuses of their social, economic and cultural rights, serious human rights violations and abuses of international humanitarian law related to the armed conflict. It draws attention to cases of torture, killings, maltreatment and other abuses committed by non-state armed actors and the government, and gives a general view on the need of a coherent and coordinated effort by state institutions to comply with the CRC’s recommendations
