Achieving he gender parity millennium goal – What needs to be done? Policy briefing

This brief has focused on improving education because the gender parity target for MDG3, for 2005, has not been met. Several international meetings (from the G8, Beijing Plus 10 and MDG Summit) provide opportunities for governments to bring more and better aid to the table to re-energise efforts to meet this goal in 2015, if not before. Increased education is essential for the empowerment of women.
